FULL ITINERARY

DAY 1: DRIVE FROM ARUSHA TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast at hotel in Arusha proceed to Tarangire(1-1:30hrs)for a full day game drive. It has an extensive collection of exotic birds, antelopes, lions, leopards, giraffes, buffaloes and the supposedly tree climbing pythons which can be seen around the swamps. But the most important feature of this Park, the game in the necklace, is the Tarangire River.

DAY 2: SAFARI IN TARANGIRE TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast we head towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see.

We head to the central Park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the Park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species, We arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park

DAY 3: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

The whole day will be spent on a game drive in the Serengeti National Park. During the short rainy season in the herds move from the hills in the north to the plains in the south while during the longer rainy season from April to June they return back up north.

This circle of life is determined by the rainfalls and locations of the herds might vary from year to year but your guide will know where to find the animals and where to see them best. A visit to the Serengeti Visitor Centre is also possible. Here you can learn more about the history of the park and the research that is being done by the Frankfurter Zoological Society.

DAY 4: SAFARI IN SERENGETI PLAIN TO NGORONGORO CRATER

After breakfast at the campsite we depart to Ngorongoro Conservation Area enjoying en-route game drive on the way to Ngorongoro. We will stopover at Olduvai Gorge, boasting with a history dating back to the dawn of time.

It was here, that the anthropologists Drs. Lois and Mary Leakey discovered the skulls of ‘Nutcracker Man’ and ‘Handy Man’, both very significant links in the chain of human evolution. We arrive in time for lunch at the campsite and after lunch we will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife for a half day’s safari tour.

DAY 5: SAFARI IN NGORONGORO CRATER TO ARUSHA.

After breakfast we descend down to the crater full game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest, unbroken and unflooded caldera in the world and it has an unbelievable diversity of wildlife.

In addition to zebras and wildebeests, you might also spot the rare black rhino and other members of the "Big Five" – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. The crater is also home to other animals such as hyenas, waterbucks, bushbucks, eland and more than 500 bird species. After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch you will leave the caldera in the early afternoon and drive back to Arusha Town, where you will arrive in the early evening.
